Committees
The primary work of EFKA is conducted through four committees, who are assisted in their work by numerous other volunteers who contribute their time and professional services.
The
Grants Committee serves as a liaison between the Board and schools. It guides teachers, administrators, and community members in developing proposals; reviews proposals; and makes funding recommendations to the Board. The Grants Committee meets monthly.

The
Fundraising Committee raises funds to support grants by conducting events such as the annual adult Spelling Bee and the Call-a-thon. The Committee has also been charged with exploring mechanisms for assuring EFKA's continued financial viability. The Fundraising Committee meets monthly.

The
Communications Committee works with local media to publicize upcoming programs and activities and generally works in a variety of ways to raise community knowledge about the scope and impact of EFKA programs. The Communications Committee meets monthly.
The Communications Committee is supported by the volunteer contributions of a number of communications professionals and community members.

Governance Committee was formed in 2009 to address issues of EKFA internal structure and operations
- board composition, responsibilities, terms, and policies and procedures;
- board member orientation; and
- preparation and filing of legal, administrative, and tax documents.
